Unangas used seal gut as waterproof material for chigdas (gut parkas), bags and accessories.

The intestine is scraped clean of remains, rinsed off and inflated to dry out completely.

Every part of the animal is used. Indigenous practices are humane and environmentally sustainable. It is a great honor that I am able to repurpose this precious material and I am so thankful for this animal for gifting me the opportunity to create my art.
